Meet Scout, a young cattle dog with a lot of love to give.
When you first meet Scout, he will be a bit unsure of you at first but once you break that ice with a treat and a pat he is quick to warm up.
Scout has had a rough first year of his life. He has already found himself in three different homes before ending up in foster care but that hasn't stopped him from loving any human or dog he has come across.
He ticks all the right boxes. Dog friendly - both big and small dogs. Cat friendly, loves a good smooch from a cat. Children friendly, although he is still a tad jumpy around them he is still well behaved and even gently takes treats from their hands.
Now the not so good thing about this handsome boy: he has slight separation anxiety that sends him into a panic when left completely alone. When alone Scout will go looking for company and can lead to jumping fences. This one negative should not mean that Scout never finds a home, as this is manageable and has been since being in foster care.
The ideal home for Scout will be one with another dog so that he has company. Scout loves to play and will play for as long as the other dog is willing. Although he has the ability to scale a 6 ft fence, it has been observed that once he has settled into a place and has doggy company the desire to want to get out reduced significantly.
Scout is crate trained. He sleeps in his crate every night with no issues. Also whilst he was settling into his current foster home he was crated when the humans left the house. But once that settling period was over, no more crating was needed when leaving the house.
Scout is house trained, although he hasn't spent too much time in the house and mainly been an outside dog. Scout is still learning to walk on a head halti calmly as he just gets excited when going for a walk.
Scout is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, HW tested (negative), and given flea/tick worm/prevention.
