About Fable - 6 Month Old Bull Arab X Kelpie
Fable is a 6-month-old female Bull Arab x Kelpie puppy (with some sighthound-like elegance) who is truly one of those quietly special dogs. Despite her breed mix, she is incredibly gentle, calm, and affectionate — the kind of puppy that melts into you rather than bouncing off the walls.
She has a soft, sweet nature and absolutely adores being close to her people. Fable will happily curl up beside you on the lounge, snooze peacefully on her bed, or — if given the chance — rest her head on your shoulder like a little shadow. She forms strong bonds with her person and loves simply being near you. She is crate trained and sleeps beautifully through the night without a peep.
Fable has been raised in a home environment and is a very healthy, well-adjusted puppy. She has been well socialised with both puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with everyone. She has also met a variety of people and is consistently friendly, gentle, and affectionate.
She has started her basic training and is already showing how clever and willing she is to learn. Fable knows “sit” and is currently learning “lay down” and “wait.” She has begun lead training and is doing well, learning to check in and stay connected to her person while walking.
Toilet training is progressing well, and like all puppies, will need continued consistency in her new home. She thrives with routine and settles beautifully.
Fable is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog (estimated around 25kg once fully grown). At her current age, she is likely to fill out and gain muscle rather than grow much taller, and she is actually smaller than she may appear in photos.
While she has a working-breed mix, her personality is much more on the calm, cuddly side — making her a lovely balance of gentle companion and playful pup. Puppy training classes are always recommended to help her continue to build confidence and skills.
Fable would benefit from a home where she has companionship. A friendly adult dog would be a wonderful role model and playmate for her, but if there isn’t another dog, she will need a home where someone is around most of the time. She bonds closely with her people and doesn’t thrive being left alone for long periods.
She will need to be welcomed inside when people are home and to sleep indoors, especially while she is still growing. Fable would make a beautiful family companion and is best suited to a home with children aged 8 years and older who understand her gentle nature.
Fable’s adoption fee is $800, which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
Fable is currently in foster care in Elermore Vale, NSW. As she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption within the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock, Upper Hunter including Singleton and Muswellbrook), as well as the Central Coast and Sydney. She will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing at the appropriate age (desexing booking TBA — due soon).
