Dale is a gentle, sensitive soul who's still learning what the world is all about.

He didn't come into the world knowing what love feels like. Simple things-like a gentle pat or walking on a lead-are completely unfamiliar to him. The world is still a big, confusing, and sometimes scary place, and Dale moves through it with soft, uncertain steps. He's a sensitive soul, easily startled, and he tends to keep his distance at first, watching from afar as if he's still trying to figure everything out.

But when Dale thinks no one is looking... that's when you see it.
