About Sassy Marshmallow
Marshmallow is a big, shaggy former street cat who arrived in care with one very clear opinion: absolutely everyone needed to back off immediately. He came in full of sass, confidence, and a deeply committed belief that humans were at best tolerable and at worst deeply suspicious. Staff quickly learned that Marshmallow's introduction style involved a mix of dramatic warnings, side-eye, and occasionally accepting pats while still actively telling you not to touch him.
It was confusing. For everyone. Especially him.
Over time, something rather unexpected happened. Between the sass and the theatrics, Marshmallow started to realise that maybe, just maybe, affection wasn't the worst thing in the world. In fact, it might even be ... enjoyable (shock, horror!). He's now fully embraced head boops, leans into gentle pats with increasing enthusiasm, and has developed a suspiciously soft side that emerges when he thinks no one is looking.
That said, Marshmallow has not undergone a full personality rewrite. He is still very much a sassy little terror at heart, and he will absolutely keep you humble. One moment he's pressing his head into your hand like a devoted angel, and the next he's reminding you (with facial expression alone) that he is only participating in this relationship on his own terms. It's part of his charm.
He is affectionate, funny, full of character, and deeply entertaining, but he does need a home that understands his boundaries and respects his space when he asks for it-sometimes politely, sometimes less so. Because of this, Marshmallow is looking for an adults-only home where his quirks can be appreciated without pressure and where he can be exactly as he is: a slightly chaotic, occasionally spicy, but ultimately very sweet boy.
Underneath all the fluff and attitude is a cat who has come a long way from his street life and is now learning what it means to be safe, loved, and allowed to choose affection on his own terms. And when he chooses you, it's pretty special.
Adopt Marshmallow, because some cats don't just love you ... they negotiate it.
