Espresso

Hi, I’m Espresso.

I am a girl who likes to be close to my people. I notice everything, I watch what you do, and I like to be part of it. If you are standing still for too long, you might feel me gently step onto your toes. That is just my way of saying I would like your attention now.

I get along really well with other dogs. I can be full of energy at first, but I settle quickly with the right guidance. I love being with my siblings. Being near other dogs makes me feel happy and secure, but I would also be okay as your only dog if you have the time to spend with me.

My days are a mix of play and rest. I spend a lot of time outside running around, playing with toys, and coming in and out through the dog door when I feel like it. I have learned how to balance my energy. I can be playful and lively, but I also enjoy lying quietly beside you, just keeping you company.

I have not met cats or other animals yet, so that would be something new for me. I am still learning about the world.

When it comes to people, I am friendly but thoughtful. I might come over to say hello, then sit close to my person for reassurance. Once I feel comfortable, my sweet nature really shows.

Training is something I truly enjoy. I am a fast learner and very food motivated. I already know how to sit, and I am working on stay and release. I am also learning to walk nicely beside you and respond to hand signals. I like having a job and understanding what is expected of me.

Toileting is going well. If I am inside, I need a reminder, and I will head outside to do the right thing. Most of the time, I am already choosing the grass.

Walking on a lead is still new to me. I am learning that it is safe and nothing to worry about. With patience, I know I will get there.

I am not a very vocal dog. I prefer to show my affection by being close, watching over you, and staying nearby. I sleep outside in my kennel now, though I have also slept inside in a crate before. I have settled well into a routine.

I am healthy and growing well, with no concerns. I have a good appetite and enjoy my meals.

If you are willing to spend time with me, guide me, and keep teaching me, I will give you everything in return. I am loyal already, even at this young age. I just need someone who will help me become the very best version of myself.

I think I could be a really special dog for the right person.
