Charlie is a beautiful 5-year-old Border Collie x Bullmastiff with a loving, loyal nature and so much to offer the right home.
Roughly the height of a Border Collie but with a sturdier build, Charlie is a wonderful all-round companion. She is affectionate, people-focused, and thrives on being included in family life. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a swim, or simply relaxing at home, Charlie is happiest by your side.
She is house-trained, has excellent manners, walks well on lead, and understands basic commands such as sit and bed. She is equally comfortable living inside and outside, and naturally settles into a home routine.
Charlie has lived with cats and is comfortable around them — she has even been known to curl up and sleep alongside them. She has also been well socialised with other dogs in public settings and has interacted beautifully at dog parks.

Charlie has been a deeply loved family member, but with the arrival of a young child, her place in the household has changed. She would thrive in a home where she can once again be the focus of her people and enjoy the companionship she clearly values.
Charlie has lived with another female dog for most of her life. However, over the past 18 months, she has developed some resource-related behaviours within the home, particularly around toys and human attention. While she is not food aggressive and is social with other dogs, she can become defensive in close living situations.
For this reason, Charlie may be best suited as the only dog in the household, where she can relax and enjoy being the centre of attention without the need to share her space or resources. Having said that, she may be perfectly fine with living with another dog, male or female, if she does not have to compete with young children for human attention.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
