About Neo
Neo is a desexed male Domestic Shorthair available for adoption in Springfield Lakes (Brisbane, QLD).
Neo is a playful, curious cat with a big personality and an even bigger appetite for adventure. He approaches life with wide-eyed enthusiasm — whether that's stalking a teaser toy, chasing bugs from the catio, or spying on you from a careful distance when he thinks it might nearly be dinner time.
He is independent and intelligent, with a gentle affectionate side that he shares on his own terms and in his own way.
Once Neo feels safe and settled, he is a genuinely rewarding companion — loyal, entertaining and quietly devoted.
A little about Neo:
🐾 Highly playful and endlessly curious
🐾 Affectionate on his own terms — head rubs via foot are his signature move
🐾 Loves feline company and does best with a cat companion
🐾 Takes time with new people — calm environments help him come forward
🐾 Suits an indoor home with outdoor access such as a catio or enclosed space
Neo's days follow a wonderfully consistent rhythm. Morning play and breakfast, outdoor catio time to investigate whatever the day has brought, afternoon naps, a puzzle treat, an evening play session and then a wind-down with a brush and bedtime snacks. He is a cat who appreciates routine and thrives within it.
One of Neo's most endearing moments happens just before a pounce — he gets low, fixes his gaze on the toy, and wiggles his bottom with great focus and absolutely no subtlety. It is difficult to watch without smiling.
Neo has a signature way of accepting affection — he loves a head rub delivered via foot or shoe, and once you know it, it becomes one of his most charming qualities. He'll approach with a cheerful trill, rub his head and body along your leg, and settle in by your feet at night.
With people he knows well, Neo is relaxed and engaged. He enjoys interactive play and will seek out contact on his own terms. With unfamiliar people, he takes a measured approach — observing quietly from a distance before deciding whether to venture closer. A calm room, a low noise level and the offer of food go a long way toward bringing him out.
Neo loves feline company and would suit a home with a cat who enjoys or tolerates an enthusiastic companion. A slow and steady introduction would help everyone get off to a good start.
Neo came from a busy rural property with many cats, dogs, children, and outdoor space. With time and patience, he has the potential to adapt to a variety of living situations. A calm household with outdoor access and feline company would be his ideal starting point.
Picture Neo crouched low behind a cat tunnel, bottom wiggling, eyes locked on his toy — then launching himself across the room with joyful abandon. That is Neo in his element, and it is very good fun to be part of.
If you are looking for a playful, characterful cat who will keep you entertained and grow into a quietly devoted companion, Neo is ready.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
