🐶 Meet Reefie – An Active Girl Looking for the Right Outlet 💦

Reefie is back in our care through no fault of her own and is searching for a home that truly matches her energy, intelligence, and zest for life.

She is an affectionate, social girl who absolutely loves people and thrives on companionship. If you're looking for a dog who wants to be involved in everything you do, Reefie will happily volunteer. She's friendly with everyone she meets and enjoys playing with other dogs, although her enthusiasm can sometimes be a little overwhelming.

Water is still one of Reefie's greatest loves. Bowls, puddles, sprinklers, dams or the beach – if there's water nearby, Reefie is guaranteed to be having the time of her life. Ball games, running and exploring are also high on her list of favourite activities.

Reefie is an extremely active, intelligent dog who needs far more than a daily walk. She requires substantial physical exercise along with plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment every single day. Without an appropriate outlet, she'll quickly find ways to entertain herself, which can include digging, chewing, stealing items and generally creating mischief around the home.

She is fully house trained but is not a dog who can currently be left to her own devices indoors. She has been destructive when unsupervised and has learnt that helping herself to food left on benches or tables can be rewarding. Like many clever working-type dogs, she'll take advantage of any opportunity if her environment isn't well managed.

Training is ongoing. Reefie knows some basic commands but can be independent and easily distracted, particularly if she's off lead. She will need an experienced owner who enjoys training and understands that consistency, structure and management are essential. Continued reward-based training and enrichment will help this clever girl reach her full potential.

Reefie has a high prey drive, so she isn't suited to a home with cats or small animals. While she enjoys other dogs, we'd still carefully assess any potential canine companions to ensure they're a suitable match.

Her ideal home would be with experienced, active owners who have plenty of time to dedicate to her needs. A rural property or hobby farm with secure fencing could suit her beautifully, but just as importantly, she needs people who understand that a busy mind needs a job to do.

Reefie isn't the right fit for everyone, but for someone wanting an adventurous, affectionate companion and prepared to invest the time into her training and enrichment, she has enormous potential. She has a big heart, loves life, and is ready to find a home that embraces her energetic spirit while giving her the guidance she needs to succeed.
