Silvia is a beautiful Maremma with all the traits her breed is known and loved for- loyal, protective, and wonderfully independent. She's very much an "old soul" who prefers the quiet life and finds comfort in familiar surroundings and her chosen people.

True to her guardian nature, Silvia is naturally wary of unfamiliar people and will bark to let you know when something isn't quite right. She takes her role seriously, and for that reason, she'll need an experienced home that understands livestock guardian breeds and can appreciate her instincts rather than try to change them.

At first she can seem distant, a little reserved, a little unsure. But beneath that is a very sweet, gentle girl who just needs patience to let her guard down. When she does, she becomes your quiet shadow, following you from room to room, finding comfort simply in being near you.

Silvia would do best in an adults-only, single-dog home where life is predictable and calm. A property with land or a large backyard will give her the space she needs, while still allowing her to keep watch over the place she calls home.
