About Lily
Lily is pure joy in pug form. Lily is 4 years old and affectionately known as Silly Billy Lily. She’ll have you laughing daily with her goofy, high-energy antics and playful personality. Lily is a sweet, loving girl who just wants to be by your side and feel safe and loved.
Lily is incredibly friendly and social with humans and dogs alike. She loves following her human around and would also like another doggy companion to play with. She hasn’t been tested with cats. She would be best suited to a home with older children, as her enthusiastic, bouncy nature could be a little much for small children. Lily is in good shape, but she is bigger than the average pug at 10kg, and she doesn’t always realise her own strength when she’s having fun!
Lily is a smart cookie. She is a fast learner, toilet trained, follows various commands, and walks nicely on the lead. Like many intelligent dogs (and pugs in general), she has a bit of a stubborn, independent streak, but give her some structure (and snacks) and she thrives.
Lily has high energy, so she’ll love an active home where she can enjoy daily walks, lots of playtime, and being part of daily life. She adores water and will happily try to join you in the shower.
Lily can get upset and anxious when left alone and has been on some anti-anxiety meds to help this. Given all the upheaval she has experienced recently, this is understandable and likely to be a short term measure. She has already improved greatly with routine, structure, and having her own safe, comfy space to retreat to. With patience, consistency and a safe place in her new home, we believe she will continue to grow into a confident, secure and loyal companion.
At night, Lily would love to curl up beside you, but she’s also happy sleeping in her own space, she just wants to be close and included.
Lily has recently been desexed and had her soft palate shortened.
She is looking for a forever home where her human is home often and she will be cherished and adored for the sweet girl that she is.
