About Heidi
Say hello to our resident sweet heart Heidi.
Heidi hasn't had the smoothest run at life and is currently learning the ways of the world with one less leg. Don't let this fool you though, this lady is not slowing down.
Due to her gentle nature Heidi is suitable to go to a home with any and all ages. Any children will need to come and meet her first at the shelter before she goes home. She would also happily share her new family with another similar sized canine companion, pending a meet and greet here at the shelter first.
Heidi has spent some time away from the busy shelter and this is what her foster carer had to say:
Heidi is such a happy three-legged pup with the sweetest nature. She's honestly the biggest cuddle buddy and won't let anyone tell her she isn't lap dog size. She loves being around people! She has a real soft spot for kids and other dogs, and now knows all the houses on my street that have either, stopping at each gate in the hope they will come out to play.
I think she would do really well in a family home where she can be part of everything. We have been working on jumping and walking nicely on the lead, and she would benefit from ongoing, consistent training. That said, she's very keen to learn and really wants to impress. She's also very food motivated (even better if it's in a puzzle!), which makes training a lot easier.
She has had a couple of accidents overnight but all in all, she is an absolute delight and will make a fab best friend. She loves deeply and deserves the same in return.
Heidi xx
