About Astarion
Some cats arrive at the shelter frightened, confused, or seeking reassurance.
Astarion arrived with opinions.
This strikingly beautiful boy has perfected the art of looking at humans like they have personally disappointed him, and frankly, he has the face to get away with it. With his regal presence, devastating good looks, and deeply unimpressed expression, Astarion carries himself less like an adoptable cat and more like a banished nobleman waiting to be returned to the palace he feels he was unjustly removed from.
To be clear, Astarion is a good boy.
He is not naughty. He is not difficult. He is simply, above all this.
Astarion is the kind of cat who prefers to sit somewhere elevated, beautifully posed, silently judging your life choices while you attempt to win his approval through offerings of soft bedding, quality meals, and respectful admiration. He has not ruled out the possibility of enjoying human company one day, but at this stage, he would like it noted that humans remain under review.
Other cats, however? Much more acceptable.
Astarion has shown that he enjoys the company of other cats, and he may do very well in a home with a calm feline companion who understands the importance of personal space, mutual respect, and occasionally sitting together in shared silence while evaluating the lesser beings around them.
He is looking for a home that will appreciate him exactly as he is: beautiful, mysterious, emotionally unavailable, and extremely committed to the bit. He does not need a family expecting a chaotic, over-the-top cuddlebug on day one. What he needs is a household willing to let him settle in at his own pace, admire him from a respectful distance, and accept that affection from Astarion will likely feel less like a given and more like a rare diplomatic achievement.
And honestly? That only makes it better.
Because for the right person, there is something deeply rewarding about earning the trust of a cat who initially looked at you like you were a peasant who had wandered into the throne room unannounced.
Astarion is not here to beg for attention. He is here to be worshipped appropriately, possibly by candlelight, and to find a home worthy of his presence.
If you have ever wanted to share your life with a cat who looks like he has a dark past, a secret inheritance, and absolutely no patience for your nonsense, Astarion is waiting.
Probably somewhere dramatic.
And probably judging you.
