About Laverne
Laverne is a confident little character with a wonderfully independent spirit and a big personality to match 🐾✨ She knows exactly what she likes — good food, fun playtime, and the freedom to explore her world at her own pace.
The bravest of the bunch, Laverne is always the first to investigate something new and loves finding the best high-up sleeping spots, especially on a cat tree where she can keep watch over everything below. Playtime is serious business for her, with wand toys, ribbons, and feathers bringing out her enthusiastic pouncing and proud little hunter instincts — often carrying off her “caught” toys like a prize 🎀🐱
She’s also very food-motivated, usually first to arrive at mealtime and making sure not a single bite is missed 🍽️
While Laverne enjoys affection, she prefers it on her own terms. Once she chooses a comfy spot on you, though, she’s more than happy to settle in for a cosy rest. Friendly, relaxed, and quietly affectionate, Laverne would suit a variety of homes and will thrive with people who appreciate her independent nature 💛

Rocky Roads is run completely by volunteers - as such sometimes we do not have the capacity to reply to every single application that comes through.
We understand that this may not be the best experience but we are working hard to ensure the people who give up their valuable time and lives to support the animals in our care are able to look after themselves and their families too.
Without them, there is no Rocky Roads Rescue.

~The Adoption Process~
⦿ Adoption enquiry comes through
⦿ One of the RR team will reach out to discuss the adoption process with you - we are volunteers, please allow time for us to reach out to you!
⦿ Meet and greet is organised and completed - you head home! 💚
⦿ Family chats to decide if this adoption is right for you!
⦿ Adoption fee is paid
⦿ Contracts are signed and returned to RR
⦿ Pick up your new family member
⦿ 2 week trial period - during this time you can call and text any questions, concerns, celebrations etc to us!
⦿ At the end of the 2 week trial period we send you desex certificates, vaccination certificates and the microchip will be submitted for transfer into your name
Please note that at Rocky Roads Rescue, we believe every kitten deserves the joy of companionship. To support their well-being and happiness, we generally do not adopt out single kittens. We encourage you to explore the concept of ‘single kitten syndrome’ to understand why having a furry friend is so important. Your new family member will thrive best with a feline buddy or a cat-friendly dog to share playtime and cuddles. However, on occasion, if a cats’s personality shows they prefer to be on their own, we may consider adopting them solo—this will be clearly specified in their adoption profile.
