About Cleveland
Cleveland is a special little guy who needs a special home. Cleveland is vision impaired and may have a few other neurological things going on. He walks with a slightly funny gait and sometimes bats the air at things that aren't there.
But he is the sweetest little kitten. He's always ready for a cuddle, and loves sitting in your arms. Once he gets comfortable, he could stay there all day! It's nearly impossible not to fall in love with him.
He was bottle fed as a kitten (it is likely that due to his issues he was rejected by his mother) and he loves people. He's so happy when he's being held and patted.
Because of his special needs he would be better suited to a quiet home. If there were kids running around he might not get out of their way in time. It would be so easy for Cleveland to be the love of someone's life.
Medical notes
As noted above, Cleveland is vision impaired. He can see light/dark, but has obvious depth perception issues. He has trouble finding his food bowl and will sometimes accidentally bite the side of the bowl when he's eating. He occasionally bats things in the air that aren't there. He also sometimes walks into things.
We sometimes notice that he walks with a slightly odd gait, so it may be more than just vision.
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
