Hi there, I’m Cookie! I’m cute as a button and sweet as can be. I’m a one-year-old Staffy cross Terrier with a gentle heart and a soft nature. I got my name because I’m small and sweet like a cookie, with a darker coat on top that makes me look just a baked bikkie. I love people very much, but I can be a little shy when we first meet. I didn’t have the best start in life and arrived in care very skinny and quite frightened of the big wide world. The good news is I’ve been working really hard on being brave every day. I’m a quiet, gentle girl with so much love to give. Once I realise you want to be my friend, I’ll happily cover you in kisses and stay right by your side. Right now I live with cats and other dogs and I’m very polite and respectful with both. I absolutely adore my big doggie foster brother and my foster kitten siblings - I even treat them like my own little babies. Having furry friends around really helps me feel safe, so I would love a doggy companion in my forever home to help me feel brave and show me the ropes. I’m also learning all my good manners. I’m practising things like sit, touch, and walking nicely on a lead, and I’m getting better every day. I’ve discovered that I really love my walks and I’m learning to stroll nicely beside you on my harness. Most of the time I’m a pretty relaxed girl. I’m very happy to snooze nearby while you go about your day. But every now and then I get a burst of energy and my silly side pops out. That’s when I zoom around the yard and show you exactly where those terrier genes come in. Overall though, I don’t need a huge amount of exercise - just a little playtime, a 30 minute walk and lots of love and cuddles. So if you’re ready to take a bite out of life with a small, sweet companion, I might just be the Cookie for you.

Adoption details
Adoption Process
Once you have decided you would like to meet or apply for one of our pets, we email out our Adoption Application. We ask that the Adoption Process be read and if comfortable with how we adopt, complete the application and email it back for processing. This takes approximately 5-7 days. If approved the pet will come for a 6 week trial for cats and 3 week trial for dogs . We believe it takes that long for a pet to settle. If all goes well during the trial and you wish to finalise the adoption we email all vet certificates and change of microchip forms. We believe in matching the right pet with the right home so your application does not guarantee an approval.
