With structured introductions and the right support, he has shown he can settle, but he will do best as an only dog so he can continue to build confidence at his own pace. He is best suited to an adult-only home, as his sensitivities and anxiety would be too much in a busy or unpredictable environment. Paddy may also struggle being left alone for long periods, as he has always been closely bonded to his person. He will need a home where someone is around more often and can gradually help him become more independent.
