About Zoey
Zoey is first and foremost a lovely natured cat and has a beautiful personality.
Zoey adores cuddles and smooches and a nice stroke and scratch (on her terms!) and will show how much she loves them by her big smile.
Having lost her sister early on through a virus, Zoey enjoys morning and nighttime cuddles for some companionship to stay warm and close, and isn't shy of making a fuss about it either.
Zoey is quite small and petit but is rapid, as she loves to chase and prey on any toy available. Zoey also found out that her kneecaps are not quite in place so she can lose her balance from time to time and can look a bit wobbly. However, when it is play time it is play time, when it is sleepy time it’s sleepy time, always on her terms!
Due to our single kitten policy, Zoey must be adopted into a home that already has a friendly resident cat, or she would love to be adopted alongside her older brother from another mother, Tonic, who is also available for adoption (See Tonic's profile here: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/1183487).
Anyone that adopts Zoey would be receiving the most soft natured cat and would be incredible lucky to have her.
Medical notes
Zoey has been assessed by a vet, and X-rays have shown that she has luxating patellas (slipping kneecaps) in both of her back legs. At present, this appears as occasional slipping of her back legs when she walks. Importantly, this does not cause her any pain or discomfort, and it is not impacting her quality of life.
Our vets have advised that no treatment or surgical intervention is required at this stage. As Zoey is still growing, any decision regarding potential surgery can only be made once she is fully mature (typically from 12 months of age), therefore it is possible that surgery may be required in the future.
Zoey is currently well, comfortable and has been cleared by a vet ready for adoption.
Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
