About Walt
The handsome Walt embodies the best of both worlds, he’s a playful and excitable boy who loves his zoomies and his people - but once he’s had his fill of fun he is old enough to show you his true couch potato self. A perfect fit for the weekend warrior lifestyle, Walt would love to ride along on adventures, and then during the week will curl up in a cosy corner in your home office and snooze the day away.
This big lover is all about his people, if you have the time for snuggles then Walt will immediately clear his schedule. His favourite activity is whatever he can do by your side. For this reason we think he will be best in a home where his humans are around more often than not. Because he is higher energy than the average grey, he would love if someone was around for a lunchtime play session to break up the day and give his busy brain something to do.
A happy and bubbly boy, Walt considers himself the neighbourhood greeter and will plant himself in front of passing humans to convince them to stop and say hello to him. Although he is confident and social with everyone he meets, he is still learning about other dogs in all shapes and sizes (they can be a bit scary at first). With another greyhound by his side he is much more self-assured, so we feel he will thrive in a home with another hound.
Walt’s foster carer says that he “craves love” and will demand tummy rubs if you dare to walk past his bed without offering them - he is truly the sweetest boy and doesn’t mind sharing his space or his things, in fact he would prefer that you come and play with all his toys please! So if you’re looking for a lad who is young at heart, and will always make you laugh with his goofy antics and jovial attitude, Walt is your perfect match.

Thinking about adopting?
We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
If you’re not sure whether you tick every box, please still apply! We’re happy to have a conversation and see if we have a greyhound who might be the right fit.
Please fill in as much detail as you can as there’s no word limit on any question.
