About Katie
Not your average couch potato, Katie is an energetic and active little lady who would love a home that enjoys long walks and has a yard where she can really show off those speed sticks when the urge to zoomie hits.
Currently living with a senior male greyhound, Katie loves canine company (and will need it if left alone full-time working hours) - but she would love a more equally matched playmate energy wise, especially to be able to go on bigger walks or adventures. She also really loves her people and would be a great addition to a busy family home where she can be included in all the fun! She can be very expressive and excited with young children though, so she needs to be watched to make sure she doesn’t knock over little ones in her desire to lay the love on them.
Despite being full of beans and always ready to pound the pavement around her quiet leafy suburb, Katie can find busy environments (and particularly train and traffic noises) a bit overwhelming, she would prefer to avoid loud areas like main roads as this can spook her. She otherwise walks very well on lead and is social and happy to pass by other dogs of all sizes.
Katie’s special quirk is that she loves to curate collections. While partial to any fluffy items, she is not above helping herself to shoes or clothes. You don’t need to be concerned, she will treat these special things with the utmost respect - arranging them carefully in the little nests she makes (especially in her most favourite spot, the wardrobe, which is also the best safe area to ride out pesky thunderstorms). Katie has no concerns with sharing these collections with you and doesn’t even mind when you put them back in their original places. She only has to wait until the next work day to create a brand new collection for you to admire upon your return! She is a very busy artist.
With her sleek coat and adorable speckled chest, Katie has a striking exterior - but she’s even more beautiful on this inside! This sweetheart has a whole lot of love to give to her lucky forever home.

Thinking about adopting?
We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
If you’re not sure whether you tick every box, please still apply! We’re happy to have a conversation and see if we have a greyhound who might be the right fit.
Please fill in as much detail as you can as there’s no word limit on any question.
