About Maisey May
Miss Maisy May is an absolutely delightful 20kg Staffy mix girl with the most endearing smile you could ever imagine. She is a remarkably friendly and affectionate girl who loves her people. With her charming personality, impeccable behavior, and an abundance of love and companionship to offer, Maisy is the perfect candidate for anyone seeking a lifelong best friend. Maisy ticks all the boxes: she enjoys humans, calm dogs, and kids, so what more could you ask for?
Maisy has a list of favorite things that truly make her happy.
At the top of her list are humans; she adores people and thrives on their company.
She also has a particular fondness for belly rubs and head scratches, which she can never seem to get enough of. An afternoon walk or a good sniff around the neighborhood is another highlight of her day.
Additionally, she enjoys gnawing on cow hooves, which keep her entertained.
Maisyâs love for humans is boundless. The more people around, the better, as she loves to greet everyone she meets and hopes for a friendly pat from each person.
While she can be a bit excitable and jumpy when saying hello, she is quickly learning that sitting politely earns her the attention she craves.
She has a habit of nudging for pats but is learning that sitting patiently and not pushing gets her the affection she desires.
On walks, she may pull slightly on the lead, but only because sheâs eager to reach the next intriguing sniffing spot. Most of the time, she is a joy to walk.
She does enjoy her outings and would be great for an outdoorsy person; the exception is rain, as she isnât a fan of getting her tootsies wet.
Maisy is a polite house guest, has shown no destructive traits while in care, and is good about not stealing food, etc.
Maisy has been tested with a number of dogs; she is polite when meeting them. She wouldnât like unknown, rude, excitable dogs rushing at her, as they may make her feel uncomfortable.
She has spent a few hours hanging out with two chilled-out golden retrievers; she did want to instigate some play, but unfortunately, they were not interested. She may whimper on walks to greet other dogs, but we like to teach our dogs not to say hello to every dog. We also never recommend dog parks for our dogs.
She is not a fan of cats or other furry pets like rabbits, but other than that, sheâs an awesome gal.
As a typical Staffy, Maisy loves being around humans but is also content to occupy herself during the day.
She sleeps peacefully in a separate area at night without any fuss. She has access to part of the house when her humans are out, so she would love a doggy door to come in and out when not home.
She is a quiet girl around the home.
She is easy to bathe and brush, thanks to her short Staffy coat. She has had a pamper session, which she loved. She is fully toilet trained.
At bedtime, Maisy tries to stay with her foster mum but easily settles into her own sleeping area with the promise of a treat. She sleeps soundly through the night and into the morning.
Maisy is a great traveler and loves car rides, especially when she can stick her head out the window to enjoy the breeze.
Daily walks are essential for Maisy, and she eagerly waits by the front door in the afternoon, anticipating her walk. She will sit waiting while her tail wags back and forth, ticking on the floorboards before heading out the door.
Maisy has likely been accustomed to lounging on beds and couches, but in her foster home, she is not allowed on the furniture. Despite this, she will still try and would love to be a couch dog, but she also settles comfortably on her bed on the floor. She enjoys pottering around with her humans, relaxing at home, and basking in the sunlight streaming through the window.
Maisyâs ideal home would be one where she can be part of the family when home. A home where she can receive her belly rubs and daily walks.
A small to medium yard would be fine as long as she can have access inside. A home with kids who can deal with a little jumping of a Staffy.
An active family who enjoys the outdoors and walking. No cats or other pocket pets.
As she is not overly playful with other dogs, she is suitable to be an only dog, but a mature, calm male dog may suit her as long as they are not overly boisterous and a little playful .
Maisy would love to accompany her new family on weekend outings and is eager to be with someone who is ready to shower her with love and attention.
