About Lara (60413)
Meet Lara, our resident gentle giant and officially the largest breed to ever come through GAWS! Weighing in at an impressive 77 kg, Lara is truly a magnificent lady.
Lara has visited us here a number of times and has always been a wonderfully compliant and cooperative dog. Having been a devoted mum multiple times, she is now ready to enjoy a well-earned life of rest, comfort, and recovery in a calm and experienced home - ideally on a large property.
Due to her size and strength, Lara will need experienced owners with confident breed knowledge and a strong handler in the home. While she can walk nicely on lead, when something catches her nose her power can be quite surprising.
Lara has no known experience with children, so a home without kids is recommended. She has not been cat tested. However, she has previously lived in a multi-dog household and may be able to share her home with a calm, compatible male dog.
Lara has been diagnosed with mild arthritis, which will require ongoing management along with some gentle weight loss to help keep her comfortable and mobile.
This very special girl deserves an extremely dedicated and understanding home that can provide the care, space, and love she needs for her next chapter. If you have the previous experience and an environment suited to a dog of Lara's stature, we would love to hear from you.
