Hi, I’m Candy 🐾

I was born on 19 November 2024, weigh around 22kg, and I’m a young red cattle dog mix with a fun-loving nature and lots of love to give.

I was adopted as a pup by a lovely family, but due to my mum’s ill health I’ve come back into ARK’s care and am now looking for my forever home.

I had been living on a farm with an older red heeler, and I’m now in foster care with another red heeler and a Pug — and I’m getting along beautifully with both. I’m very dog-friendly, love to play and run around, and enjoy my walks, but I’m just as happy relaxing and being part of the family.

I’m super resilient, very adaptable, and just ready to love my people. I’m great with kids and would likely be fine with a dog-savvy cat. I’ve got good recall once I realise you’re mine (which takes about 5 minutes 😉) and while I’m still learning, I’m eager to please. I know “sit” and I’m working on “stay”.

Being a young dog, I can be a bit exuberant at times, but my heart is absolutely in the right place. I’m super clever and just need a little more guidance to become the amazing companion I’m meant to be.

My foster family describes me as sweet, affectionate and full of potential. I’m:

✔ Generally quiet, but I’ll bark if needed

A little about my beginnings — my canine mum was called Sweetie, and she was really beautiful. We all came into ARK from the pound, and she was the first to find her home. There’s a photo of her in my profile 💛
