About Nev
Hello there! I’m Nev, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR NEV
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I am wary of unfamiliar men but when they let me slowly and gently approach it doesn't take me long to relax and accept all of the cuddles but if there are unfamiliar men coming into the house i will need to be given a safe space to retreat to until a slow and controlled introduction can be done.
• If going to a home with men they will need to be extra gentle and patient allowing me to come around to them in my own time.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• I do love to give hugs (my front paws on you), so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident with this.
• I also love my food – so children need to be mindful of my eating space but with positive training I can learn it is a safe space and no one will steal my food.
• Treats are exciting – so I need to work on my manner when accepting them.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Because I may have had a sheltered start and can be shy in new situations, continued socialisation will really help build my confidence. I’m already becoming braver at the shelter!
• Im best as an only dog in the home but i love socialising and playing with them outside of the home so lots of opportunities to meet new dogs would be great.
• No cats or pocket pets – I am not a fan!
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit, shake and stay, and I’m always eager to learn more.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
Training:
• I’ve only recently started learning to walk on lead at the shelter. I’m improving every day, but I can still be a little slow, erratic or fearful at times. With patience and regular walks, I’ll soon gain confidence and enjoy my daily strolls.
• I am very aware of thunderstorms and fireworks. I’ll need a safe, secure space to retreat to, along with comfort and reassurance from my family.
• Regular positive interactions with men will help with my fear of them, as it doesnt take me long to get use to them.
• When left alone for long periods i can sometimes bark waiting for you to come home to me so leaving me with lots of enrichment and things to keep me occupied while your gone will help this.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Nev if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
