About Winnie
Meet Winnie… your future shadow, snuggle supervisor, and part-time wildlife control officer 🐾
She came into season after she arrived into care, but when that is finished in the next week or so, we would love to find her people. We would offer a foster to adopt situation so in 6 weeks’ time once she is desexed, we would finalise her adoption. She is only a small girl weighing in at 12kgs.
Winnie is on the hunt for a forever home that can offer her favourite things in life: long, leisurely walks and an unlimited supply of cuddles. If you’ve got a lap, she’s got a plan.
This little pocket rocket has two speeds: elegant explorer and full zoomie mode. She absolutely loves a good burst of speed, followed immediately by collapsing into your arms for well-earned chin and chest scratches. Your “rest time” is now officially “Winnie appreciation time.”
Winnie is a well-mannered lady overall. She doesn’t fully “get” the whole sit command yet (she’s more of a free thinker), but she makes up for it by being polite in all the ways that matter—like leaving your food completely alone, even if you’re eating right next to her.
She’s quietly confident with new people, observant, and just the right amount of curious… which does mean she may occasionally conduct independent investigations into “forbidden” areas if she gets bored. (We recommend toys. And maybe hiding your socks.)
Winnie is dog-friendly with a relaxed introduction. She’s a dedicated hunter of skinks, spiders, and rogue flies, so you can cancel your pest control subscription.
At home, she’s a little alert watchdog who will let you know if something suspicious is happening (like a leaf moving outside), but she listens well when redirected. She’s got impressively keen hearing… except, oddly, when you’re calling her away from something interesting.
She can be a bit timid around hoses and bath time. While crate training is still a work in progress, Winnie feels strongly that beds are for sharing and laps are for sitting on. Preferably yours. Always yours.
She can be a little fussy with food—she likes to sample and then pass judgement—but she does love peanut butter… just not from a spoon, because spoons are clearly highly suspicious objects.
More than anything, Winnie wants to be part of your everyday life. She’s the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room, supervise your activities, and happily soak up attention from anyone lucky enough to be home often.
If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly quirky, affectionate little companion who will make you laugh, keep you company, and stare lovingly into your soul… Winnie might just be your girl 💕

How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
