🐾 Double the Love: Meet Pebbles & Mellow, the bonded besties! 🐾
Are you looking for a ready-made family? Meet Pebbles and Mellow, a bonded pair who prove that two is better than one. They fit together like puzzle pieces—literally! Mellow is the perfect height to walk right under Pebbles.
✨ Meet Pebbles (Staffy x Bull Arab | Female)
Pebbles is a soulful "talker" who lives to love. She also does an adorable prance when she is excited where she talks and stands in one spot but her front feet walk on the spot! One look at her and her "whip-like" tail starts wagging with pure devotion.
At Home: A perfect balance of chilled and energetic. She’ll snooze (and snore!) while you work, but loves play and run time with Mellow to burn off her "big dog" energy.
Quirks: Expert at "snort-sighs" and giving Mellow the look to start a wrestling game or backyard zoomies.
The Journey: An "excited explorer" who gets vocal in the car and when passing other dogs. She needs a patient leader to help her channel that enthusiasm. We aren't sure of her history, but we expect her car manners will improve as she learns that trips mean fun new adventures!
✨ Meet Mellow (Dachshund x Kelpie | Male)
Don’t let the name fool you—he is very chill, but Mellow also has a massive personality! He often instigates play with toys with Pebbles (including sometimes de-stuffing them by the end of all their tug-of-war games!) but what fun they have.
Water Baby: Obsessed with water! He’ll supervise your shower (and will go in with you if you let him!) and catch the spray from the garden hose.
Comfort King: A sensitive soul who loves to "suck" on a blanket for comfort. He is very gentle and not aggressive if you need to take the blanket away.
The Co-Pilot: Mellow is calm in the car and loves to look out the windscreen with his head resting on his human’s arm.
Health Kick: Currently on a fitness journey! Despite being a "bigger sausage," he is full of energy and absolutely loves his walks.
🏡 Life in the "Pack"
The Bond: A true team that must be adopted together. Mellow follows Pebbles to see what the "gossip" is outside. They settle quickly when you leave because they have each other.
Sensitive Souls: Both can be a little startled by new noises (like a falling broom or the vacuum). As a new foster home, we’ve found that a few cuddles and positive reinforcement go a long way in building their confidence!
Training Superstars: Fully house-trained! They’ve mastered Sit, Stay, Wait, and Find It treasure hunts. Their enthusiasm sometimes overrides their listening, but they are eager learners. Neither of them guard their food and often share their water bowl.
Human Connection: They want to be where you are—heads on your lap for a movie or "supervising" your office. They love morning kisses and will even crawl on their tummies up on the bed or doing some burrowing or blanket grabbing (if you let them!) to let you know they're excited for the day. They tend to spend much of their day close by to each other.
The Walk: Both are strong, and Pebbles can be loud if she sees another dog. They need a dedicated owner who enjoys lead training. They are so excited the moment you reach for their leashes!
📋 The Essentials
Yard: Secure 1.8m fencing is a must for zoomies and safety.
Friends: No cats, please!
Human Fam: Great with children, but due to Pebbles' powerful "happy tail," we suggest kids aged 8+.
Manners: Mellow is a vocal "doorbell" but redirects easily with positive encouragement.
Adventures: Given their excitement just to see you put your shoes on, they are clearly ready for a life of adventure and love and quality time (even on days just spent at home) with their forever humans!
