About Kissy
Meet Kissy, also known as Krissy, a delightful bundle of joy who's sure to fill your life with love and laughter. Her nickname is a testament to the affectionate greetings she bestows upon her loved ones, complete with loving kisses, beaming smiles, and enthusiastic tail wags. Kissy is a people-loving pupper who thrives on attention and eagerly seeks a tummy rub or a snuggle on your lap. She's known for her happy wiggles and might just surprise you with a gentle kiss or a charming toothy grin to remind you of her presence.
Kissy is not only an affectionate companion but also a well-behaved one. She waits patiently for her meals and delights in a spoonful of yogurt as a bedtime treat, settling in happily for the night once dessert is done. Her curiosity and intelligence make her eager to learn new things, and she's always interested in the world around her. Bath time is just another adventure for Kissy, and she enjoys a burst of playful zoomies afterward. Although she needs her ears kept dry, there’s no stopping her joy. Kissy has impeccable house manners, being toilet trained and familiar with using a doggy door. She enjoys leisurely strolls on a lead and knows when it's time to head home after enjoying the outdoors.
Kissy's versatility shines through her ability to adapt to various situations. She's content to enjoy a lazy day or to engage in playtime with her favorite toy piggy. Car rides are another pleasure for her, and she travels with ease. Though she can be a bit excitable when visitors arrive, she's learning to greet them with calmness and has made strides towards offering belly rub requests rather than high-energy jumps. This loving lady is also cautious around unfamiliar dogs, but with careful introductions, she has successfully befriended two other small dogs. In Kissy, you'll find a devoted, spirited little girl who's sure to become a cherished companion, offering loyalty and amusement each day. Whether you're in the mood for a busy day or a lazy afternoon, Kissy's engaging personality and affectionate nature make her an ideal addition to any loving home.
Medical notes
5 year old Kissy is desexed and microchipped. She is up-to-date with vaccinations as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heartworm prevention.
Kissy came into care with chronic ear infections - the worst we had ever seen. After lots of medications and a surgery to remove the lumps and clean out her ears, she is now back to normal, however she will always need to have her ears checked for any early signs of infection, and she will remain on one set of ear drops for life - she is currently having Cortavance ( Hydrocortisone) 0.3ml administered twice weekly on consecutive days currently Sunday and Monday of each week.
She has had a dental. Her patellas are stable.
Adoption details
Chihuahua Rescue QLD Inc. is not a first to apply rescue group.We re-home our dogs based on the best possible family we can find them.
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to all applications. If you are considered suitable for the dog you have applied for you will be contacted witihin one week of applying.
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form - only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Browns Plains, Jindalee or Kedron vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
