Kuma

Meet Kuma—the kind of dog people talk about when they say “once in a lifetime.” With his striking green eyes (yes, really!) and handsome, slightly pointed features, he turns heads everywhere he goes—but it’s his heart that truly steals the show.

At 10 months old, Kuma is a young, energetic boy still growing into himself, currently 22kg and likely to fill out into a beautiful medium–large dog. His unique look hints at a mix of breeds—perhaps Kelpie, Labrador, or even Weimaraner—but whatever he is, he’s 100% special.

Kuma is, at his core, a total cuddle monster. He lives for connection—whether it’s gently “schmoozing” you with his nose, curling up beside you on the lounge, or simply following you around to be part of whatever you’re doing. He doesn’t just want to be near you—he needs his people, and he gives that love back tenfold.

He’s wonderfully social and gets along beautifully with both people and other dogs, including young children. While he can be a little unsure at first (understandable after his start in life), he settles quickly into a happy, wiggly boy once he knows everything is safe. There’s not a hint of aggression in him—just a gentle, playful nature and a love for life.

Playtime is one of Kuma’s favourite things. He adores rough-and-tumble wrestling, chasing games, and running free with other dogs—whether it’s at the park or splashing through waves at the beach. He’s equally happy winding down afterwards, snuggled up close to his humans or doggy friends.

Kuma is also impressively clever and eager to learn. He’s already crate trained, toilet trained (using a doggy door), and knows commands like sit, wait, lie down, and even “show belly.” He walks beautifully on a loose lead and is picking up new skills quickly by watching the dogs around him. With his intelligence and food motivation, he’ll thrive in a home that continues his training and keeps his mind engaged.

He travels well in the car, settles when left alone (especially with other dogs), and has shown himself to be easygoing and adaptable. Like any young pup, he may occasionally “borrow” a sock or dig a small hole—but these are just little reminders that he’s still a baby learning the world.

Kuma would suit an active home where he can be included in daily life—whether that’s a family with kids, a couple, or a single person who wants a loyal companion by their side. He’d absolutely love another dog to play and learn from, but could also thrive as an only dog if he has plenty of company and attention.
