😍 Zen is an absolutely stunning boy with the softest heart to match. Once he trusts you, he is the biggest cuddle bug—the kind of dog who just wants to be close and soak up all the love.

🐕 He absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in their company so a home with a well adjusted, friendly dog would be perfect.
💡 Zen is incredibly smart, with great obedience foundations, and has shown just how quickly he can learn when given the right guidance. He is working with a professional trainer with whom he has built a beautiful relationship of trust over the months.

🏡 Since coming into foster care, Zen has made huge progress. After spending a long time in the pound, he initially found the world a bit overwhelming and showed some reactivity to his surroundings. With consistent work and patience, he has already overcome fears of things like bikes, cars, and busy environments—proving just how capable and resilient he is. 💪

🛑 Let’s be clear: Zen is a work in progress!!
He is still working through some human reactivity which comes from a place of fear, but he has already shown that he can build trust and form strong bonds even outside his immediate circle.
He will likely always be a reactive dog, so he needs an owner who understands and respects that trait, and is committed to managing it in a positive way. 🛑

Because of this, he will need:

✔️ An experienced dog owner who is committed to meeting Zen where he’s at
✔️ A calm, patient and understanding home that can provide structure, consistency and clear boundaries
✔️ Slow, safe introductions to new people
✔️ A gradual handover process with several meets required and a slow transition into his new home
✔️ Someone willing to continue ongoing training and guidance

🐥 While under the care of Willow Tree Sanctuary, our dogs are desexed (at the right age) microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested (6 months+), treated monthly for parasites and have any other necessary vet treatment required.
