About Herbie
Introducing Herbie!
Herbie is an old soul who prefers the simple things in life: a calm space, kind company, and a cozy spot to relax. A real homebody, Herbie enjoys a peaceful environment and would thrive in a quieter home, ideally away from busy roads as cars can make him feel unsure. He's not overly fussed about treats, preferring calm connection and companionship instead. There's something wonderful about him. He's gentle, easy to be around, and happiest just quietly hanging out by your side.
He can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you, this sweet boy just likes to take things at his own pace. Give him a little time, and when he feels ready he'll come over for some gentle pats... and that's when you'll see his true, affectionate nature shine. Leaning in for more pats or following you around thinking you won't see him, Herbie is looking for a friend who understands that sometimes the best friendship takes a little time.
He still has a lovely spark of energy about him, and when the mood strikes, his playful side really begins to shine. Whether it's a little burst of zoomies or a gentle game, Herbie enjoys letting loose in his own quiet way!
Herbie is okay with other dogs, though he can sometimes become a little frustrated or boisterous, particularly when he's feeling more confident, so he would suit a calm, well-matched companion or be just as happy soaking up all the love on his own. If you've got a resident dog at home, please bring them along to the meet and greet!
He would also be best suited to a home with secondary school-aged children or older, who can understand his need for space and go slow while he builds confidence.
Herbie is ready to find a home where he can truly relax, be himself, and be loved. Adopt Herbie, and find out that sometimes the quietest dogs leave the biggest paw prints- and Herbie is one of them.
