About Boots
Boots is a 3-year-old Kelpie who is smart, active, and always switched on. As a working breed, he needs plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy. He’s best suited to an experienced owner who understands working dogs and can provide structure, training, and ongoing guidance.
With People: Boots is loyal and forms strong bonds with his people. Due to his alert nature, he would be best in a home without young children and with an owner who can provide calm, consistent care where he can reach his full potential.
With Other Dogs: Boots may be selective with other dogs and will need slow introductions and guidance. He may be best suited as the only dog in the home. Boots is not suited to a home with small animals or pocket pets due to his natural drive to work.
Health: He is in good health and will thrive with regular exercise, enrichment, and routine care.

Adoption details
If you are interested in meeting one of the dogs available on our adoption page, please contact City of Salisbury on (08) 8406 8222 or email communitycompliance@salisbury.sa.gov.au, and complete an adoption application.
Once your application has been received, we will be in touch to discuss your application and the next steps. This includes organising a meet and greet so you and the dog can get to know one another.
If there are children or other dogs in your household, we ask that a second meet and greet be arranged. This allows for a dog-to-dog introduction and helps ensure your resident dog is also happy with your choice of companion.
Please note that some dogs may require further training and may be too energetic for families with very young children. Our team will guide you through the best options to suit you and your family and help match you with the right dog.
If everything meets your expectations, we will work with you to complete the required paperwork and payment so you can take your newest family member home.
