About Barney
Meet Barney - a big-hearted goofball with an even bigger capacity for love. At just 1 year old, this Mastiff x Rottweiler boy is still finding his way in the world, but one thing is already very clear... once Barney picks his person, he's all in.
Barney is a classic big sook who forms strong bonds with his favourite humans and loves nothing more than being close to them. Whether it's hanging out by your side, going for a stroll together, or soaking up some well-earned pats, Barney is happiest when he's with his people. He's also eager to please and very food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continuing his training and building some solid life skills.
Like many young dogs, Barney is still learning that some parts of life aren't so scary. Things like vet visits or having his ear medication can make him a little unsure, so he'll need a patient and experienced owner who can help him build confidence and show him that the world is a safe place. With positive reinforcement, tasty treats and a calm approach, Barney has all the potential to blossom into an incredibly loyal and steady companion.
Barney would suit an experienced home that can continue guiding him as he grows. He may be able to live with older, dog-savvy children, though he would likely thrive most in a calm and predictable household where he can enjoy plenty of one-on-one time with his favourite person. He could potentially share his home with another dog, but any introductions should be done thoughtfully and slowly to help him feel comfortable. Barney hasn't been tested with cats at this stage.
If you're looking for a young dog with a big heart, a loyal streak, and a soft spot for the people he loves most, Barney might just be your perfect match. With the right support and a loving home, this sweet boy is ready to grow into an incredible lifelong companion. 🐾
