About Stephen
Stephen is a young, playful dog with lots of energy.
He enjoys being around other dogs and loves to play, but he can be a bit persistent and will sometimes annoy other dogs when he wants to keep the game going.
He would suit a home with a tolerant dog or as an only dog.
He has been around cats. He does bark at them occasionally, mostly out of uncertainty, but he is actually quite wary of them and tends to keep his distance.
He has been good with children and hasn’t shown any issues around them. Because he is energetic, supervision around young kids is still recommended but he loves cuddles and to play.
He is intelligent and quite trainable.
He already has some basic training and responds well to guidance and routine.
He can be a little unsure on the lead and may be nervous about it, so continued calm exposure and confidence building with leash walking will help him.

Adoption details
- You contact us to obtain an adoption application and discuss the animal of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability. We will also ask for rental agreements or rates and photos of your home. Please also include photos of your fencing .
- A meet and greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and current dogs are arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a yard check, to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - we understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
- Payment of the adoption fee is made in one full payment. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records. Please note we do have contracts in place that must be signed.
- Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted to council and the adoption is officially finalised.
- For interstate adoptions- The adoptor must have a meet and greet with the animal they are adopting. We will not send an animal over without a meet. All transport costs including flights, will need to be paid in full by the adoptor.
- For cats, all adoptions take place at PETstock Tuggerah unless the profile states otherwise.
