Mickey is the kind of dog who becomes your shadow — a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be part of your everyday life. If you’re looking for a best mate to join you on adventures and keep you company, Mickey could be a perfect fit.

He loves getting out and about, whether it’s a trip to the beach, camping, or tagging along to your local café. He travels beautifully in the car, is very quiet (not much of a barker), and is fully toilet trained. Mickey already knows a few tricks and, with his intelligence and agility, has plenty of potential to learn more.

At home, Mickey is very people-focused and happiest when he’s close to his humans. He enjoys affection and connection, but also settles well and has not shown destructive behaviour when left alone.

Mickey does best in a calm, adult-only home. He is a sensitive dog who can become overwhelmed by excitement and busy environments, and he relies on his humans to provide structure, consistency, and a steady presence. He has shown that he is uncomfortable around children and we are seeking a home without them.

With other dogs, Mickey prefers calm companions who respect his space. He is not a fan of face-to-face interactions and does best with dogs who have polite, low-key social skills.

As a Border Collie-type, Mickey is naturally alert and responsive to movement and noise. Busy household activities like vacuums or lawn mowers can overstimulate him, so a home that can manage these situations calmly and thoughtfully will help him feel secure.

Mickey will thrive with an experienced, patient owner who understands sensitive, intelligent dogs and uses calm, consistent guidance. He is eager to please, responsive to food and toys, and will benefit from ongoing training, daily exercise, and mental enrichment.
