About Becky
Hello there! I'm Becky, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BECKY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/aSmJtMBpfqjoZP4f9
My Ideal Home:
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction. Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family. I can be shy in new situations, a home with kids that are respectful of dog boundaries.
• It appears I may have had a sheltered start and can be shy in new situations, continued socialisation will really help build my confidence. I'm already becoming braver at the shelter!
• I'm still a puppy, which means I will chew, nip, have accidents, bark, and sometimes be a little destructive. With patience, consistency, and training, I'll learn - but I need a family fully committed to putting in the time and effort to help me succeed.
• As a young puppy, I'm ready to learn and adapt - how I grow and mature will reflect the love, structure, and guidance you provide
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
• I enjoy the company of friendly male and female dogs.
• I need a doggy companion to keep me company when my family isn't home, or a household where someone is around most of the time. I can feel lonely and a little anxious when left alone, which may lead to barking or destructive behaviour.
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they'll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I’m clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who’ll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training:
• I haven't had any formal training yet, so I'll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. I will need lots of lead training and a harness will help my walking improve greatly.
• I'm shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar environments, and I can be extremely timid when entering buildings or homes. I'll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation.
• I can feel anxious when left alone in the backyard and may become vocal, barking or whining. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company, and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Becky if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well to ensure everyone is a good match before an adoption can proceed.
