About Betty
Introducing Big Eyes Betty.
At just 1 year old, Big Eyes Betty has already had her heart broken. She was once adopted and thought she'd finally found where she belonged, but sadly, the busy energy of young children was just too overwhelming. Through no fault of her own, she was returned.
Since coming back, Betty hasn't been the same. The shelter has been a big, scary change for her, and she's become very quiet and shut down, like she's trying to make herself small in a world that's felt a little too much. But if you look into those big, searching eyes, you can see it... she hasn't given up. She's just waiting. Hoping.
Betty needs a very calm, adults-only (or exceptionally quiet) home, someone gentle, patient, and understanding. Someone who will give her the time and space to feel safe again, without asking too much too soon. She may not run up to you right away, but when she begins to trust... it's soft, it's tender, and it's real. A quiet lean into your hand, a hesitant headbutt-little moments that mean everything.
She doesn't need a busy home or a lot of excitement. She just needs one person, her person. A kindred soul who will see her, truly see her, and help her believe again that she's home for good this time.
Big Eyes Betty is still waiting for her forever. Maybe... it's with you.
