Hello, I’m Capri!

I’m a 7-year-old girl with a soft black coat and the sweetest little white spots on my face, as though someone took a paintbrush and added a couple of finishing touches. I’m a sweet and lovely girl, but I’m also on the shy side, so I need a little time to feel safe and let my personality shine.

I’m not the sort of girl who comes charging up to introduce herself: I prefer a more ladylike approach. New people can make me feel unsure, and I’m happiest with those who understand that trust is something to build gently. I can also be a little wary of sudden or quick hand movements near my face, so I’ll do best with calm, predictable interactions and people who move with kindness and patience. Once I begin to feel safe, my sweet soul and lovely nature start to shine through. I’m calm, gentle, and quietly affectionate and have a lot of love to give to those I know and trust.

I’m very happy having a quiet explore of the gardens, trotting around and sniffing all the good smells. I’m also wonderfully relaxed around other dogs, both big and small. In fact, I tend to feel especially at ease with another dog nearby, so having a canine companion may help me continue to build my confidence.

What I need most is a patient, understanding family who will give me the time, kindness, and encouragement I need to be my happiest self. Someone who will see the beauty in a softer, quieter soul and understand that there is something very special about watching a shy dog slowly blossom.

To make sure everyone is happy, we match each hound with the right family, and we provide lots of support along the way!

All hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm (including heartworm) treated. The adoption fee includes our Adopter Kit containing a martingale collar, leash, muzzle and useful information to help you get your new hound settled in.
