About Beau
Beau is a solid little unit with a soft side, equal parts cheeky companion and loyal shadow. Currently living it up in inner-city Melbourne, he’s been adjusting well to busy surroundings and is starting to really settle into a routine. He'd love a backyard to play in though!
Beau is all about his people. He forms strong bonds and wants to be wherever you are, whether that’s at home, in the car, or tagging along to work. He’s even spent time in an office environment and handled it beautifully. Because of his attachment style, Beau isn’t suited to being left alone for long periods so we're looking for someone who is at home most of the time or can take him along to their workplace for the day.
He would do best as the only dog in the home, as he has a case of "little dog syndrome" can be reactive to other dogs. He has lived with cats but has been known to chase them on occassion. With people, he’s generally friendly, though he can be a little unsure around some men and may bark on occasion while he works it out. This has only happened a handful of times and he’s improving as his confidence grows.
Beau is currently working on his basics, including “sit” and “touch,” and is keen to learn with the right guidance. He enjoys getting out and about and has even joined in for a few holes of golf, taking it all in stride.
He’s also on a bit of a fitness journey and has already dropped some weight, now sitting at 11.2kg. With continued walks and a balanced lifestyle, he’s on the right track.
Beau will suit someone patient and consistent who can give him structure, companionship, and help him continue building confidence. In return, he’ll be a devoted, entertaining little mate who just wants to be part of your everyday life.
