About Beau
Beau is a sturdy little character with a soft, loyal heart — equal parts cheeky companion and devoted shadow.
Beau is very people-focused and forms strong bonds with his humans. He wants to be involved in everything you’re doing, whether that’s relaxing at home, heading out for the day, or even joining you at work. He has spent time in an office environment and handled it beautifully. Because of this strong attachment, Beau isn’t suited to being left alone for long periods and will do best in a home where someone is around most of the time or can take him along.
He’s not just a “sit at home” kind of dog either, Beau has already proven himself as a surprisingly great little golf companion. He’s comfortably made it through 8 holes, happily cruising along, taking it all in, and enjoying the outing with his person. If you’re someone who enjoys a relaxed round of golf, Beau would be more than happy to tag along.
He would be happiest as the only dog in the home. Like many small dogs, he can be reactive to other dogs and has a bit of “little dog syndrome.” He has lived with cats but may occasionally chase if they’re on the move. With people, Beau is generally friendly, though he can sometimes be unsure around some men and may bark while he figures them out. This has only happened occasionally and is improving as his confidence grows.
Beau is currently learning his basics, including “sit” and “touch,” and is keen to keep progressing with the right guidance. He’s also been working on his fitness and has already made great progress, now sitting at 11.2kg. With continued exercise and a balanced routine, he’s well on track.
Beau will suit someone patient and consistent who can offer him structure, companionship and ongoing support as he builds confidence. In return, he’ll be a loyal, entertaining and affectionate little dog who just wants to be part of your everyday life.
