Smokey

Smokey is a beautiful, sweet-natured girl with a smoky grey and white coat, the softest white fur, and striking green eyes that sparkle with quiet curiosity. This graceful lady is affectionate in her own special way, with a mix of quiet regal independence and gentle sweetness, she will constantly delight with endearing little quirks and the cutest trills and chirps.

Smokey came to us from a loving family who found her as a tiny kitten wandering outside. Their daughter instantly fell in love with her, and she was raised in a warm, caring home. Sadly, with their daughter having moved out and the family relocating, they made the difficult decision to find her the perfect new forever home where she can continue to thrive and be cherished.

While naturally a little timid at first, Smokey warms up beautifully once she feels safe and settled. Although not a lap cat, Smokey enjoys being near her people on her own terms, rubbing against legs, sitting nearby on the couch or sleeping at the foot of the bed. During the day you'll find her perched by the window watching the world go by, having moments of curiosity, or dozing peacefully in a comfortable sunny spot.

She purrs readily and deeply when enjoying chin scratches, but she’ll walk away when she’s had enough. Smokey is a refined eater who grazes quietly on her biscuits and isn’t overly food-driven, though she gets genuinely excited for treats expressing her joy with excited meows.

She has charming bursts of playful energy with occasional zoomies. Her absolute favourite game is the laser pointer. Watching her transform into a focused little hunter, creeping, stalking, and launching lightning-fast pounces, is endlessly entertaining and reveals her spirited, agile side.

She would thrive best in a calm home with a patient owner who appreciates her low-maintenance, yet quietly loving presence. As she doesn't like being picked up, a household with older children who can respect her boundaries would suit her best. Access to a secure outdoor area or balcony would be a wonderful bonus for her to watch the world go by.

Smokey is approximately 10 years old and has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow, to the right home.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
