About Sooty
Introducing Sooty, a sweet and and playful boy who is on the hunt for a new home; whoever adopts him won’t be disappointed as he has a heart of gold. This dog is very gentle and wants little more than to be close to people who he trusts. Sooty will sit on command and has excellent recall; he will benefit from more training which will be a breeze as he is very intelligent and loves food and treats. In addition, Sooty has passed the puppy stage and he is fully toilet trained.
Sooty is a medium size dog (16kgs) and is fully grown. He has a beautiful soft coat with splashes of white. He loves getting his fur brushed and is constantly wagging his bushy tail.
When he came into care Sooty was very timid and quite wary of strangers. However, he has become more confident in care as he increasingly realises that people are there to love and care for him; he warms to women more quickly than men but he is very affectionate and forms a strong bond with anyone he trusts. He is a great watch dog and will bark if a stranger approaches the house but he is never aggressive.
Although Sooty is a Collie cross, he doesn’t require a great deal of physical exercise. He loves going for a good daily walk or run and he gets additional exercise doing zoomies and playing with other dogs which he loves. This boy has bouts of energy and a real zest for life; he loves going on adventures - particularly if they involve going in the car.
Although he loves going on walks and exploring the garden, Sooty also needs to be included with inside family activities even if it’s lying at his owners feet. He has been in care both as an only dog and with other dogs (male and female) and he initiates play with them all. Ideally he is suited as a companion dog for someone who is home more often than not and/or the playmate of another dog.
If you think that this gentle dog can find his forever home with you, his foster mother would love to tell you more about his special qualities. If you have any further questions and would like to meet Sooty, please reach out to the team who will put you in touch with his foster carer.
