About Rosie
Rosie, an almost 3 year old sweet red doodle (miniature poodle x red setter), is looking for a home with an active couple or family to give her lots of stimulation and cuddlesâŁď¸ She can be the only dog or go with another calm, gentle dog.
Weighing only 6.5 kgs, she is more miniature poodle in stature but she has those lovely long silky ears and the straight out tail of a red setter.
Rosie loves to play fetch with her soft sensory ball đĽ and sharing a tussle with you and her soft monkey toy. She loves to have a snuggle on the lounge but also likes her own space. She will follow you everywhere.
Rosie previously lived on acreage with a cattle dog and although loves her walks đž she has not had exposure to busy pedestrian areas and therefore is quite shy or worried on lead when near people and other dogs whilst out on walks.
Rosie is not a fan of other dogs that have high energy or are very boisterous towards her. She is still very much adjusting to suburbia.
In the home she is more confident and relaxed and loves receiving visitors.
Rosie has previously used a medium-sized doggie door, however, in the short time in care, we havenât been able to get her to use the carerâs smaller doggie door even with the flap up. Itâs a work in progress, but she taps on the glass door to let you know she needs to go out. Rosie is house trained and will hold on till you return home (4-5 hours tested) and she sleeps through the night on her own bed.
Her owner advised that storms or fireworks donât bother her.
Whilst Rosie has not lived with a cat, she always enjoyed her visits to the vet so she could play with the vetâs cat.
A non-shedder, Rosie will need to be regularly groomed and in between brushed every 2-3 days with a gentle brush or comb to prevent matting.

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
