About Wesley
Hello there! I’m Wesley, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR WESLEY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/M1Hoy4FhVtnpiYqY9
My Ideal Home:
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing is essential to keep me safe.
• I’m still learning what toys are but with your guidance and patience, toys and mental enrichment will become fun and help keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Because I can be shy in new situations, a home without little ones who may accidentally startle me would suit me best.
• A quiet, mature household would be the perfect home for me.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog. Even for the short time I have been at the shelter, I am getting braver each day.
• I’m happiest as the only dog in the household. I have met numerous dogs of all sizes at the shelter, and I am not a fan of any of them. Lots of socialisation will be key in helping me overcome this.
• A home without cats would be best for me, cats are scary and that includes kittens too.
• I am a fussy eater at the shelter. I appear to like raw food (eg: bones)
• I am a timid little man but once I feel comfortable, I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
My Paw-some Perks:
• Super gentle accepting treats (at the shelter I like Baxter’s Kangaroo Straps)
• Love to cuddle up and snooze on your lap once I’ve settled into my new home
• I’m adorable! Despite my flaws (being timid & not liking other animals), I will win you over with my cuteness
Training & Support Needs:
• I have no idea how to walk on lead! A harness would be beneficial while I am learning.
• I’m shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar environments, and I can be extremely timid when entering buildings or homes. I’ll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation.
• Training – it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Wesley if your application is approved.
Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet.
