Chip Douglas is a young, adventurous boy with a huge heart and an even bigger enthusiasm for life. At around one year old he in curious, playful teenage years and ready to find his forever family.

After admiring his adorable face and colouring, the first thing you’ll notice about Chip Douglas is how affectionate he is. He absolutely adores people and greets you like a long-lost love every time you come home… even if you only stepped out for five minutes. He’s a champion kisser and takes his role as household romantic very seriously. If you’re sitting on the couch, expect Chip Douglas to appear beside you, ready to deliver some enthusiastic affection.

Chip Douglas is also very clever and highly food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for training. He already understands some house basics and has settled beautifully into home life — he uses the doggy door like a pro and sleeps soundly in his comfy bed beside the humans’ bed (although he would absolutely vote to upgrade to the mattress if given the chance!).

Play & Personality - Chip Douglas has a wonderful playful side and loves to run and chase a ball or a buddy! A good run or play session makes him a very happy dog. Like many young dogs, he has energy to burn and will thrive in a home that enjoys getting outside with him.

He’s also very affectionate and playful with other dogs. When he spots a dog out and about, he can get very excited and sometimes barks to say hello — it’s his enthusiastic way of trying to make friends and work out who’s who! This is something his new family will need to continue working on with gentle training and redirection, but Chip Douglas’s food motivation and love for other dogs mean he’s very receptive to learning.

Chip Douglas has a sweet, submissive nature and responds best to calm, kind guidance.

Chip Douglas would love a home where he can be part of the action and close to his people. He’s the kind of dog who happily becomes your little shadow, following you from room to room just to be nearby.

He could thrive: in a home with another friendly dog who enjoys a playful buddy, or as a solo dog provided his owners can give him plenty of exercise, attention, and enrichment.

If his humans need to be away during the day, Chip Douglas will be happiest if he’s had a big run or play session beforehand so he can relax and snooze. Because he’s still a puppy teenager, Chip Douglas will benefit from a family committed to continuing his training so that he can become the most polite boy he’s destined to be.
