About Lola
Bunny and Lola are just five months old, but their start to life has been anything but easy. Born on a vacant lot as part of a colony, they grew up fending for themselves in an environment where survival, not comfort, was the priority. Thankfully, a kind member of the public stepped in and brought them to safety. Stories like theirs are exactly why rescuing and desexing colony cats is so important ... without intervention, kittens like Bunny and Lola face incredibly tough, often short lives on the streets. Because they were caught young, they have something so special on their side: the chance for a completely different future.
Right now, though, they don't understand that they're safe. The shelter is overwhelming for them full of unfamiliar noises & smells. Their instinct is to hide, to make themselves small, to hope the world quiets down around them. They are truly terrified little things, still trying to make sense of what's happening.
But underneath that fear, there is something incredibly gentle and worth holding onto.
Neither Bunny nor Lola has ever shown any aggression. Not once. And when someone patient takes the time to gently pick them up, they don't fight, they melt. They lean in, soften, and for a moment you can feel just how much they want to feel safe ... they're just not quite brave enough yet to believe in it fully.
They would suit a very patient, understanding home, one that will let them go at their own pace and won't expect instant confidence. While they don't need to be adopted together, they do take comfort in each other, and it's very sweet to see them draw reassurance from that familiar presence. They also enjoy the company of other cats and would likely thrive in a home with a calm, confident feline who can show them the ropes and help them learn that people aren't so scary after all.
Like all kittens, they love toys, but at the moment, they're often too nervous to show it when people are around. In a safe and quiet home, that playful side is just waiting to come out.
Bunny and Lola are not the kind of kittens who will bounce into your life full of confidence from day one. They are the kind who will need time, kindness, and patience, but in return, you get to be the person who changes everything for them. You get to watch them discover what it means to feel safe, to trust, to play, and to simply be kittens.
By adopting Bunny or Lola, you're not just giving them a home, you're giving them the life they were almost denied. A life off the streets, away from fear and uncertainty, and full of the warmth and security they've never known.
Bunny & Lola are part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
