About Nacho
Nacho – The Interview with the Cat Welfare Officer
Recently, Nacho was interviewed by our Cat Welfare Officer while curled up on her lap.
Interviewer: Good morning, Nacho. Thank you for attending today's interview and for keeping my lap warm.
Nacho: You're welcome. I was told there would be snacks.
Interviewer: We'll discuss that later. First, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Nacho: Certainly. I am Nacho – professional lap cat and full-time handsome gentleman. I specialise in making humans fall in love with me.
Interviewer: Impressive. What are your qualifications?
Nacho: I have extensive experience in finding laps and curling up on them. I am highly skilled at gazing lovingly into people's eyes while activating the powerful V8 purr machine hidden inside this handsome cat body.
Interviewer: We see here that you have experience with people?
Nacho: Absolutely. I enjoy human company and believe regular pats are essential for everyone's wellbeing. My lap cat skills are probably my greatest asset. In fact, I actively seek laps out. Did I mention I'm a huge lap cat?
Interviewer: You have mentioned it several times. How do you feel about other cats?
Nacho: I am generally quite social. I believe every cat deserves a fair chance, although I reserve the right to judge them silently from across the room. I am currently residing with two other male cats who I occasionally like to remind that I am the boss, so I may be best suited as an only cat.
Interviewer: What would you say are your strengths?
Nacho: My good looks, charming personality, excellent purring abilities, and my talent for making even the busiest human stop what they're doing and enjoy some quality lap time. I take my role as a professional lap cat very seriously.
Interviewer: Any weaknesses?
Nacho: I occasionally become distracted by feather toys. I also find it difficult to resist a sunny windowsill... and, of course, a human lap.
Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in five years?
Nacho: Living indoors with a loving family and continuing my important work as a professional lap cat.
Interviewer: What are you looking for in a home?
Nacho: A family or person who appreciates quality feline company, provides good food, warm beds, and understands my need for a warm lap.
Interviewer: Final question. Why should someone adopt you?
Nacho: Because every home deserves a little more laughter, a little more love, and a lot more lap cat. I happen to provide all three.
Interviewer: Thank you, Nacho. We believe you'll be an excellent candidate for adoption.
Nacho: Wonderful. Now, about those snacks you promised... 🐾❤️

Adoption details
STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW: I will come desexed, vaccinated (1st F3) and microchipped and will have up to date worm and flea treatments.
ADOPTING ME: You must be able to provide me with a loving long term and safe home. I would be fine in an apartment as long as I didn't have free run of the balcony if it wasn't fully enclosed. Please ensure your house or apartment can contain a cat inside (ie fly screens etc).
Please remember that I have thought seriously about taking you on and when you take me home, I am committing to you for life. So, I hope you have thought seriously about this and are likewise planning on committing to me.
ABOUT YOU: Given you know all about me, my foster parents would like to know something about who my new parents are going to be. They have rescued me and have given me a lot of care and love. I know they love me and therefore want the best for me.
ABOUT US: AWL Western Suburbs branch wants to promote adoptions of cats from our foster carers & pounds. If you would like to help us, please feel free to contact us and find out how you may assist, including being a foster parent.
All adoptions will require a Pre-adoption application form completed and returned prior to a meet & greet with our cats. Please note that several people may be applying for the same cat so we need time to review all applicants. We do not re-home to the first to apply, we re-home to who best suits the needs of the cat or kitten. All applications will be considered individually and approval will be at the discretion of the AWL NSW Branch Representative, with their decision being final.
