Monty

Meet Monty - the very best boy.

Monty is a sweet, gentle dog who absolutely loves his people. He's calm and polite at home, happiest when he can relax nearby while you go about your day, and always appreciates being told he's a good boy (which he truly is!). Monty enjoys relaxed "sniffari" walks where he can take his time exploring, enrichment games with food, and curling up on the couch with his favourite humans for pats and neck scratches. He forms strong bonds with his people and simply loves being part of everyday life.

Monty is currently part of our behaviour program and has made wonderful progress in foster care. He has a medical condition which can cause sensitivity around his hips, so he needs gentle handling around his rear end and ongoing monitoring of his comfort. Monty also experiences separation-related distress and some noise sensitivity, and he is supported with behaviour medication while he continues building confidence.

Monty is looking for a quiet, adults-only home with no other animals. He would do best in a house with a secure yard (no apartments) and people who are home often, as he enjoys being around his humans and will need continued support gradually getting comfortable with time alone.

For someone patient and understanding, Monty will be an incredibly loving, loyal companion who will reward you every day with his sweet nature.
