About Red
Better together: playful young brothers looking for a home
*Please note: Red and Tabouli are currently enjoying foster care and are not located at the shelter full-time. If you are interested in meeting them, please mention this in your enquiry so our foster carer can arrange to bring them in for a meet and greet. Because they are in foster care, same-day enquiries and same-day meet & greets are unfortunately not possible.*
Red and Tabouli are two delightful five-month-old brothers who are looking for a home together. These boys share a wonderful bond and truly bring out the best in one another. Tabouli helps Red remember and explore his playful side, while Red's affectionate nature gently encourages Tabouli to come over for cuddles and kisses. Watching them interact is a joy, and they clearly benefit from having each other by their side.
Red is an absolute charmer. Playful, silly, affectionate and wonderfully sweet, he's the kind of kitten who will happily flop beside you after a big play session and gaze up at you with complete adoration. He loves exploring, playing with toys, investigating water, and generally being involved in whatever you're doing. Red enjoys affection and often likes to be held or snuggled, but he also has a thoughtful side and is just as happy sitting nearby keeping you company.
Tabouli is an incredibly handsome young cat with features that give him a slightly Maine Coon-like appearance. He is affectionate too, but he likes affection to happen on his terms. When you respect that, he rewards you with some truly beautiful cuddly moments. He loves climbing, playing games, and will happily drape himself around your shoulders or nestle into your hair while you relax.
Together, these two keep each other entertained and balanced. They both love affection and will often compete for pats, so ideally their new home will have two hands available for cuddles - or two humans willing to share the love.
Because of Red's very pink nose and ears, these boys will need to be indoor-only, or have access to a secure outdoor cat enclosure with plenty of shade to protect Red from sunburn.
Both kittens are active, curious and clever, so they will thrive in a home that offers plenty of enrichment such as cat trees, climbing spaces, window hammocks or an outdoor run. Without enough stimulation they may invent their own entertainment - and unfortunately curtains and carpet rarely win that battle!
They could potentially join a home with a friendly and playful cat looking for buddies. They have been exposed to a home with a dog- with a calm, well-mannered dog and a slow introduction, they are likely to settle-in well together. They would be best suited to homes with older, cat-respectful children (10 and up) who can understand that cats require space and consent.
Red may occasionally become a little sneezy during major stressful events such as vet visits or moving house, but when settled in a calm, stable home, he does very well.
If you're looking for two affectionate, playful companions who will fill your home with curiosity, personality and love, Red and Tabouli may be the perfect pair.
*Important: Red and Tabouli are currently in foster care and are not located at the shelter full-time. If you would like to meet them, please mention this in your enquiry and our foster carer will arrange to bring them in for a meet and greet. Because they are in foster, same-day enquiries and meet & greets cannot be accommodated.*
