About Azriel
When Azriel first arrived at the shelter, it's fair to say he... wasn't thrilled. In fact, he seemed pretty convinced that life was terrible, the staff were highly suspicious, and the whole situation was a personal insult.
We respected that. Honestly, if we suddenly ended up in a strange place with strangers trying to talk to us all day, we might feel the same way.
So we did the only sensible thing, we gave Azriel time, space, and the opportunity to realise we weren't actually the villains in his story. And slowly but surely, something magical happened.
Azriel chilled out.
These days he's revealed himself to be a lovely, gentle boy who has decided that humans might not be so bad after all. He's still more on the quiet and thoughtful side, but once he's comfortable, he enjoys attention and has a soft, sweet nature that's really grown on everyone here.
Shelters can be a lot for sensitive souls, so we think in a calm home where he can properly relax, Azriel's confidence will continue to blossom. With a bit of patience and kindness, we suspect there's an even bolder version of Azriel waiting to emerge.
So if you're looking for a cat who has gone from "absolutely not" to "okay ... maybe a little pat", Azriel might just be your guy. And honestly, watching him continue to discover that life isn't so bad after all is pretty special.
