About Angus
Meet Angus, a gorgeous 9-year-old Beagle with the sweetest soul and the gentlest manners. Like many dogs in a new environment, Angus can be a little nervous when he first meets you,-but give him a little patience and kindness and he quickly shows just how loving he is. Once he feels safe, he forms a beautiful bond with his people and will happily settle into the role of loyal companion in his forever home.
Angus is a polite little gentleman around the house. He knows his manners and will patiently wait to be invited before hopping onto the couch or the bed-two of his very favourite places! When he's in the mood for affection, he has the most endearing way of sweetly asking for pets and belly rubs, and he soaks up every bit of love you're willing to give.
Walk time is one of Angus's favourite parts of the day, and he'd be delighted to join you for as many strolls as you'd like. He walks beautifully on the lead, knows to pause and wait at crosswalks, and generally sticks close to his person. The only thing that can distract him is a truly irresistible scent-after all, that famous Beagle nose is always hard at work! If there's a particularly good smell or a bit of food on the ground, he'll briefly go into full "sniff investigation" mode.
As you might expect from a Beagle, Angus is very food-motivated and not at all picky, he'll happily try just about anything! This makes enrichment toys with hidden treats his absolute favourite. The moment he sees one, his excitement lights up the room. Once he gets it, he'll contentedly settle into his bed to work out the puzzle. It's also a great way to help him relax if you're heading out, though he's already wonderfully easygoing when left alone. Angus is an excellent napper and spends most of his solo time snoozing peacefully, no chewing, digging, or redecorating the house.
Angus is also a very social boy who truly enjoys the company of others. He loves meeting new people and seems especially delighted when he spots groups of people or families with kids while out and about. Because of this, we think he would thrive in a lively household where there's plenty going on and lots of opportunities for pats and attention. He's equally friendly with other dogs-always happy to stop for a polite sniff and hello before continuing on his way.
All in all, Angus is simply a wonderful older gentleman with so much love to give. With his sweet nature, good manners, and easygoing personality, he will make a fantastic companion for the lucky family who welcomes him home. Whoever adopts Angus won't just be getting a dog, they'll be gaining a devoted little friend for life.
