About Anzac
Anzac is a big, handsome ginger boy who is part of our Rescue or Rehome Program. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was extremely frightened and unsure of the world around him. His fear meant he could be defensive at first, as he tried to protect himself in an unfamiliar environment.
With patience, gentle care, and time to settle, Anzac has made wonderful progress. He has learned that people can be kind, and he now enjoys gentle pats and will happily purr when he's being stroked by someone he trusts.
Anzac is still a sensitive soul, and sudden loud noises or busy environments can startle him, sometimes sending him looking for a safe place to hide. Because of this, he's looking for a quiet, calm home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace.
Once he feels safe, Anzac shows his affectionate side and enjoys the comfort of human company. Watching a shy cat like Anzac learn to relax and trust is incredibly rewarding.
Anzac is also FIV positive, which simply means he will need to be an indoor-only cat and should live either as the only cat or with other friendly FIV-positive cats.
This gentle giant has already come such a long way. With a loving home and a little patience, Anzac has every chance to continue blossoming into a loyal and affectionate companion.
Anzac is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Anzac - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
