About Dexter
🐾 Meet Dexter! 🐾
Young • Tri-colour Border Collie Cross • Adventure Enthusiast
Dexter is a happy, high-energy young boy who is absolutely full of beans and ready to take on the world by your side! With his striking tri‑colour coat and bright, eager personality, Dexter turns heads wherever he goes.
This clever Border Collie cross is searching for his best adventure buddy - someone who's excited to include him in life's fun moments.
Whether it's long walks, hiking new trails, beach trips, or just exploring the neighbourhood, Dexter would love a family who enjoys getting out and about and wants a loyal companion to join them.
Dexter thrives on:
🐕 Adventure and activity
🧠 Mental stimulation and learning
❤️ Human companionship and bonding
He's the kind of dog who will greet each day with enthusiasm and a wagging tail, always ready for the next exciting plan. With the right family to guide him, Dexter will make an incredibly devoted, fun-loving companion.
If you're looking for a smart, energetic dog who wants to be involved in everything you do, Dexter might just be your perfect match. 🐾💙
To book a meet and greet with Dexter please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au .
Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.
Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
